2007-2008 Achievement Criteria

Kiwanis CalNevHa District - Division 26

The club and its members are the cornerstone of Kiwanis. 

It is essential that each member commit to service.

The 2007-2008 achievement criteria are based

on achieving the Kiwanis IDEA to:

 

Increase our commitment to young children,

Develop leadership throughout the Kiwanis world,

Expand Kiwanis service around the world, and

Access Kiwanis service and growth through the World Link Program

 

Distinguished Member

The Club President will verify members that qualify for Distinguished Member. To qualify, a club member needs to:

    ·         Recruit two (2) new members

    ·         Attend both mid-winter and district convention (or equivalent)

   ·         Participate in two (2) service projects

 

Distinguished Member Awards:

Club members who are awarded distinguished will receive a lapel pin and recognition at the 2009 Kiwanis International Convention.

 

Distinguished Club

Service:

·         The club will sponsor and fulfill their responsibilities to a sponsored organization or program (K-Kids, Builders Club, Key Club, Circle K, Aktion Club and Kiwanis Junior).  10 points

·         The club will contribute $5 per member to the Kiwanis International Foundation ($100 minimum per club).     10 points 

·         The club must participate in the Young Children: Priority One program.  10 points

 

Education:

·         The club will provide all new members a new member orientation.  10 points

·         The club will be represented at both the mid-year conference and District convention (or equivalent) 10 points

·         The club will be represented at required Club Leadership Education (CLE) training sessions. 10 points

 

Growth:

·         The club must have a net gain in membership of at least one member by the end of the administrative year.  20 points

·         The club will complete one of the following three items:  20 points for completing one category.

10 bonus points for each additional category completed.

o        Sponsor (or co-sponsor) a new Kiwanis club in the community

o        Sponsor a new club in a developing Kiwanis Nation through the Kiwanis World Link program

o        Build a new K-Kids, Builders Club, Key Club, Circle K, Aktion Club or Kiwanis Junior club.

 

Distinguished Club Awards:

 

When the club accumulates at least 80 points, the club will receive the distinguished club banner patch, a distinguished lapel button for the president and secretary, and a certificate from the International President acknowledging their achievement.

 

Lt. Governor Award

The division will qualify for a Governor’s Citation, Outstanding Leadership, Outstanding Performance, or Honorable Mention based on the collective performance of the clubs in the division.

 

Division Awards:

 

If 50% of the clubs in the division achieve distinguished, the lieutenant governor will be awarded the Governor’s Citation and will receive a lapel pin.

 

If 40% of the clubs in the division achieve distinguished, the lieutenant governor will be awarded the Outstanding Leadership Citation and will receive a lapel pin.

 

If 35% of the clubs in the division achieve distinguished, the lieutenant governor will be awarded the Outstanding Performance Citation and will receive a lapel pin.

 

If 25% of the clubs in the division achieve distinguished, the lieutenant governor will be awarded the Honorable Mention Citation and will receive a lapel pin.

 

District Award

The district will qualify for a Presidential Citation, Outstanding Leadership, Outstanding Performance or Honorable Mention based on the collective performance of the clubs in the district.

 

District Awards:

If 50% of the clubs in the district achieve distinguished, the district governor will be awarded the Presidential Citation and will receive a ring and lapel pin.  The district secretary will receive a certificate and an appropriate memento.

 

If 40% of the clubs in the district achieve distinguished, the district governor will be awarded the Outstanding Leadership Citation and will receive a special award and lapel pin.  The district secretary will receive a certificate and an appropriate memento.

 

If 35% of the clubs in the district achieve distinguished, the district governor will be awarded Outstanding Performance Citation and will receive a lapel pin.  The district secretary will receive a certificate and an appropriate memento.

 

If 25% of the clubs in the district achieve distinguished, the district governor will be awarded Honorable Mention Citation and will receive a lapel pin.  The district secretary will receive a certificate and an appropriate memento.

 

Rebuilding a Small Club Recognition

“Bring the Club Back Alive”

 

Any club who starts the administrative year below charter strength and builds itself back to charter strength (25 members) will receive a US $50 gift certificate to the 2007 International Convention, attend a private reception at the convention and have a photo taken with the International President.

 

Overview:

  1. Starting and ending membership figures will be based on January 15 published membership numbers by Kiwanis International. The date shall not be changed during the year or extended.
  2. To be counted, all new member add fees for the district and international must be paid at the time the new member add is submitted to Kiwanis International.
  3. All growth criteria will be verified by Kiwanis International.
  4. Awards for the club and division levels will be sent from Kiwanis International to the District Office for presentation at their descretion.
  5. New clubs built during the 2007-08 administrative year are not eligible.
